About

I am an amateur photographer that’s decided to actually get serious about learning photography. It all started when I took a photography class about two years ago. The instructor made us all get a camera. I purchased a used Canon Rebel XT. It was a great purchase and the class was fun, but I still didn’t know what I was doing with the camera. So I put it down. Earlier this year I went to Mardi Gras and took my camera with me. Prior to that I watched a video that explained some of the features of the camera and how to of photography. I took some great pics. Then I heard of the “one a day” rule and gave it whirl. What fun. Then while playing around one day someone asked me to shoot their wedding. I got scared. I couldn’t believe that someone would actually pay me for taking pics. I did my homework and ended up not doing it but it made me think that maybe I should really learn how to use this thing. I have a 50mm/1.8 prime and a 55-250mm/4-5.6. This journal will be a chronicle of my project 365. Wish me luck.

  1. Thanks for stopping by Onelifethislife and following on the journey. We have some things in common. I am looking foward to seeing more of your work. You are certainly off to a good start! Posting everyday is also sometimes difficult but I do photograph something everyday even if it’s with my phone. I’m here to cheer you on as well as the WP community.

  2. Thanks for stopping by, and following Storyteller. One-a-day rule, huh? 🙂 I started that four years ago. Every time that I try to stop I feel like there is something missing and I start again. I think you learn a lot about yourself as a photographer by forcing yourself to shoot. — Ray

    • I am discovering that many people have done the same thing. Start a 365, stop, start, stop, etc. we just get too busy at times to keep up. At least you’re back in it.

  3. I’ve been meaning to leave a comment here for you. I really appreciate your visits over at my blog. The 365 project is great….can get tiring, but it is fantastic practice. I think that taking at least one photo a day is a good and sets a discipline. I can’t believe I’m at day 266 today. Some days I really do feel to tired to put something up on my blog…but I’m stubborn! 100 days to go for me. I’m looking forward to a good visit here with you.

    • No worries. I’m jealous you are so far ahead. I’m just taking my time getting there and learning as much as I can. I found an expensive hobby to take up my time. Lol.
